Katie Cooper comes to us from Lancaster, PA, where she successfully competed as a junior in high school and continued competing through the collegiate level. Throughout hercareer, she has worked with many reputable trainers. She came to Caves after touring Europe with a very successful Grand Prix rider from Ireland. Katie has brought the riding program here through the stages of development needed to create one of the most successful show barns in Maryland. Her training and coaching techniques have enabled many of her students to qualify for Zone Finals, MHSA Gittings, and the WIHS since her arrival. Her enthusiasm and endless energy help mold her students into competitive riders.
As a professional rider, Katie has competed sucessfully in the hunters and jumpers up to the grand prix level. She has qualified and competed at Harrisburg and Washington. In 2012, she finished the year leading the region in the WCHR Developing Rider standings. Katie truly loves bringing a young horse up through the levels- you will see her showing a seasoned horse at an AA show one day, and taking a young horse to his first local show the next.
Katie Francella comes to us from Annapolis, MD where she had an extensive background in any kind of horse related activity she could come across. She really found her love in thehunter ring and worked for several trainers before turning professional herself. Katie enjoys all ages of riders- from the very young to the more mature.
Molly Greene joined the Caves Farm staff in 2016 as our manager. She brings with her a quality of horsemanship shaped by her years of experience. Molly’s early career was influence by her work for the legendary Elizabeth Solter. She went on to work for 5 years for William Santoro with young horses in all capacities. She also spent 7 years with the prestigious Greenspring Valley Hounds where she trained, exercised, managed a variety of horses from the sports medicine of racehorses to the discipline of fox hunters. We are proud to have Molly to ensure or horse care is consistently producing quality.
Sissy is a Princeton University graduate, a lifelong rider and trainer, a USEF R rated judge, member of the Ushja Foundation Board if Directors, freelance journalist, an autism advocate and Editor of The Plaid Horse. Her illustrious resume includes extensive show hunter and jumper experience. She lives with her family in Unionville, PA and Wellington, FL. Sissy frequents Caves Farm when she is not traveling a few times a week and attends competitions on occasion to help us raise the bar in our daily training as well as those pivotal moments in the heat of competition.
